The Arc Air DCF 50L Backpack by Zpacks has literally had my back in some of the worst conditions where I needed the carrying capacity to hike big miles in dangerous places. When you have to carry gear or have long food and water carries, a small frameless pack is going to wreak havoc on your body, especially if your bag isn’t designed to handle the heavier loads. When it comes to long distance backpacking or any outdoor sport you need to have the right tool for the job. The Arc Air DCF 50L is my go-to bag for making trails like the Hayduke or the Oregon Desert Trail happen. You have to be prepared for the unexpected, especially when you’re not on those super popular trails (where you don’t have the luxury of cell phone service or frequent bail outs). At 20.8oz the Arc Air DCF 50L Backpack has the perfect balance of being lightweight but also sufficient capacity to have the equipment needed to complete difficult and remote trails, and has afforded me the ability to see some amazing places that are far away from those large hiker bubbles. Seeing amazing places that few other thru-hikers have seen, leaves you with a sense of awe and accomplishment knowing that the views you’re enjoying haven’t become just another Instagram hashtag.
